Goto -  Film synopsis: On the legendary island of Goto, all inhabitants toil under the dictatorial rule of their cruel monarch, Goto III. When Goto’s wife, Glyssia saves a man, Grozo, from execution, she has her husband hire him as the island’s chief flycatcher and dog walker. Little do they realize that Grozo not only desires Glyssia but he also wants the throne.

La Bete -  Film synopsis: Once upon a time in the 18th century a beast lived in the woods of an aristocratic estate. And this beast, possessed of a giant phallus and an insatiable lust, set upon the beautiful young lady of the house. Two centuries later, the tale of the beast would return in the dreams of an American heiress contracted to carry the male descendant of the same crumbling aristocratic family and their secret.

Contes Immoraux -  Film synopsis: Walerian Borowczyk is well known for his erotic productions and this portmanteau film is no exception. The four different tales look at different aspects of sexuality throughout the ages. The contemporary tale of 'The Tide' sees a young student and his female cousin turning to sexual exploration when they find themselves cut off from the mainland and trapped on a beach, while in 'Therese the Philosopher' the eponymous heroine discovers the erotic potential of a variety of everyday objects, first in a church and, later, when locked in her bedroom.

'Erzsebet Bathory' looks at a brief moment in the life of the woman (played by Pablo Picasso's daughter, Paloma Picasso) credited with being the original "Countess Dracula", and who believed that bathing in the blood of virgins would guarantee her eternal youth. 'Lucrezia Borgia' focuses on the sexual relationship between the famous title character and her equally famous brother and their father, who also happens to be the Pope.

Article description: The films of Walerian Borowczyk inspire and repulse, titillate and outrage. He is both a consummate artist, adept at staging and lighting even the most trivial items to give them a sense of grandeur and meaning, and a taboo-breaking provocateur, creating some of the most controversial and offensive images of the 20th century. Animator, artist, pornographer, revolutionary, Walerian Borowczyk is a filmmaker with a bold and unique vision. RHV is proud to present three of Borowczyk's most provocative works in a definitive editions. GOTO, ISLAND OF LOVE, Borowczyk's hypnotic first foray into live-action filmmaking. THE BEAST, the infamous 1975 feature that is still considered one of the most shocking films ever made and LOVE RITES, Borowczyk's powerful last film.
